Little SoldiersThe plan, worked out to the smallest detail. Every obstacle’s marked, terrain scrutinized and the guard timed. Ever so stealthily, I moved from my blind, using what cover was provided and blinding light from the rising sun. Slowly moving forward with no more sound than the breeze. Inching ever closer to that objective. Closer yet seeming farther. One inch, then 2. One foot, then another. Time rushing by and the distance not seeming to diminish. SPOTTED! This was the thing I most had dreaded. I knew it could happen, so it was anticipated. Even so the adrenalin was rushing tLittle Soldiers
